A growing recruitment company with new headquarters in Staffordshire has acquired another firm – taking its total number of branches up to 50.
Kenect Recruitment has taken over North East-based Joe Halliday Recruitment, which will now be known as Kenect’s new Sunderland and Newcastle branch.
The acquisition is part of the company’s strategy to strengthen its position within the UK by identifying strong competitor businesses to join the team in key areas.
And Kenect Recruitment is expected to grow even further with three new franchises set to be integrated before June.
Director Julien Smith, pictured above, said: “The acquisition of Joe Halliday Recruitment allows us to position a North East hub to support local franchisees and clients alike.
“We welcome the new staff to our team with open arms and will work with them closely to achieve our growth expectations for 2023 and over the coming years.”
He added: “In addition to this great investment, we are currently in talks with various other businesses regarding potential opportunities. It’s a very exciting time for Kenect Recruitment, its clients, workforce, and everybody else involved with the business.”
All staff at Joe Halliday Recruitment, which was launched in 2016, have been kept on.
New Area Manager and former Joe Halliday Recruitment owner Michelle Lightfoot said: “Kenect is one of the best-rated recruitment agencies in the UK.
“Their ethics, drive and commitment to customers are just a few reasons why I decided to complete this takeover with them.
“I really look forward to helping with the transition to Kenect Recruitment and then working with them in my new capacity as Area Manager, which I’m really excited about.
“Although our name is changing, the staffing team and great service our customers are used to receiving will remain the same.
“Obviously, there will be a few changes, but we’re really looking forward to implementing these and working with the Kenect management team to improve our systems and services for our customers.”
Kenect opened its new head office and national support hub in Burton upon Trent in February, as reported in Daily Focus. The company was started in Rugeley in 2012 and now has 80 staff members across 25 owned branches and 25 franchises.
