Perkins Engines launches 25th anniversary Eco Awards

1 min read

Stafford-based Perkins Engines has launched its annual environmental awards scheme to help promote green projects and sustainable living to young people.

The Perkins Engines Eco Awards 2023 is an initiative aimed at encouraging primary age school children in the Borough of Stafford to actively participate in environmental schemes and raise awareness about renewable energy.

This year’s competition, which marks its 25th anniversary, is themed around “Renewable and Sustainable Energy” and it is open to all primary schools within the Stafford Borough.

Students are invited to submit ideas for eco-friendly projects, which can come from an individual pupil, a small group, a school club, or even the entire school.

The Perkins Eco Awards offer a unique opportunity for children to showcase their ideas, learn about sustainable living, and make a real difference in their community.

There are prizes for the winning school, runner-up prizes for all shortlisted schools, and all participating children will receive a gift.

During the Eco Awards day on June 14th, 2023, children will get involved in eco and environmental activities, enjoy refreshment and present their projects.

Perkins Engines UK Operations Director David Mogg said: “Perkins Engines is committed to supporting local schools in becoming sustainable communities and raising awareness about environmental issues.

“The company is delighted to see the enthusiasm and dedication of local children towards creating a better future for everyone.

“Perkins Engines and its colleagues are excited to see the innovative and creative ideas that local school children will come up with and are looking forward to a successful Eco Awards event in 2023.”
