Staffordshire University has become the first in the UK to offer cutting-edge game design training as an Unreal Authorised Training Centre.
As one of the leading universities for games development and an official partner of Epic Games, Staffordshire University is now offering accredited training in the Unreal Engine computing programme to schools, colleges and industry professionals.
Unreal Engine is a real-time 3D creation tool used to develop some of the most innovative and immersive experiences on the market including architecture, vehicle design and healthcare.
Expert instructors are trained and authorised by Epic Games to teach Unreal Engine, using Staffordshire University’s state-of-the-art facilities on campus or via remote study.
The University’s Unreal Authorised Training Centre will offer a range of courses that teach real-time skills for many different industries. This includes introductory courses for beginners, advanced courses for experienced developers, and specialised courses in areas such as VR and AR.
Professor Carlton Reeve, Director of the Staffordshire University Games Institute, said: “Our authorised training centre will form the cornerstone of our support for industry, schools and colleges CPD in games development, virtual production, simulations, VR and the host of sectors for whom Unreal Engine will be core software.
“We are pleased to celebrate our longstanding relationship with Epic Games and their vote of confidence in our Unreal Engine expertise.”
