Local businesses urged to support Potters ‘Arf Marathon

1 min read

Members of the local business community are being urged to support this year’s Potters ‘Arf Marathon with donations for runner’s goody bags.

The iconic half marathon, which returns on Sunday 11 June, attracts thousands of runners young and old, plus walkers and relay teams every year.

Planning is underway for this year’s event, which is sponsored by Hanley Economic Building Society, and Stoke-on-Trent City Council is looking for local businesses that can help. Contributions needed include:

Water bottles (with branding featured on every water station on the 13.1 mile route)

Vegan sweets/treats

Runners item (laces/water bottle)

Energy gels

Pen (featuring company logo/name)

Protein powder sachets

Foot Mask

Discount vouchers

Jelly beans

Chocolate/Flapjack

Cllr Lorraine Beardmore, cabinet member for culture, leisure, and public health said:

“From the scintillating opening on Potteries Way to the trials of ‘Heartbreak Hill’ to the iconic City Centre finish, the Potters ‘Arf is truly one of the toughest and most iconic runs in the country.

“We are looking for local businesses who can contribute physical donations of various items or a monetary value. In return for their support, businesses will be featured on the marketing for the event plus have the option of a stall in our race village and be seen by over 2000 people on race day.”

Anyone interested in supporting the event should contact Louise Eltringham at the council by emailing [email protected]. For more information on the Potters ‘Arf marathon, please click here
