Two of the biggest political figures in Stoke-on-Trent are set to go head-to-head for a debate – just a week before the crunch local election.
Cllr. Abi Brown, the Leader of Stoke-on-Trent City Council (Conservative Party), and Cllr. Jane Ashworth, Leader of the Opposition (Labour Group), will appear at a Hustings Event on 28 April.
As well as giving updates on their respective parties’ priorities for the business community they will answer questions from the audience.
The “Business Matters” event will take place at Commerce House on Festival Park, Stoke-on-Trent, the headquarters of Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce.
Declan Riddell, Stafford Chamber Manager and Policy Adviser, said: “This is an exciting opportunity to hear from two prominent political figures in the area and be a part of the conversation about the most pressing issues for Stoke-on-Trent after the elections.”
The free event is open to members of the Chamber and non-members. Attendees can put forward their questions in advance by completing an anonymous form.
The hustings session will be hosted by Daily Focus Editor Nigel Pye of i-Creation who has covered local and national politics and elections for 30 years.
Advanced booking for the event, set to take place from 8:00am – 10:00am, are essential. No walk-ins will be permitted. Places can be booked here.
