Stoke-on-Trent-based family firm Promtek has scooped an award to mark the skill and development of one of its apprentices.
The specialist bulk material handling process control and automation firm won the Apprentice Project Prize for employee Josh Fawcett at the national SHAPA Awards.
SHAPA is the UK’s leading specialist association for the solids handling and processing industry and its annual awards are an opportunity to recognise the best in class across multiple disciplines.
Josh’s Apprentice Project Prize award entry was based on proof of his individual development and a video presentation to the judging panel, and he beat stiff competition to win the coveted accolade.
Promtek was also shortlisted for the Innovation in Technology Award and the Sustainability Award. There was also recognition for Leonie Aldridge, who was shortlisted for the Newcomer Award at the ceremony, which was held at the Merchant Adventurers Hall in York.
Managing Director Charles Williams said: “Promtek is very proud of both Leonie and Josh.
“Their achievements are incredible and we are so pleased to have them on board. Their attitudes towards learning and their dedication are inspiring.
“Thanks also to Richard Key, Engineering Manager, for his hard work and support, and of course to everyone at Promtek for creating such an awesome environment to work in.”
Promtek was established in Brindley Ford in 1972 and prides itself on its Potteries heritage and the relationships it has built with staff and the local community. It also has a reputation as a big advocator of apprenticeships.
