New shop will make sure owners in Gnosall are not In The Dog House with their pooches

A former supermarket is being brought back into use as a pet supplies store.

Work is ongoing at the former Co-op on Gnosall’s High Street to turn it into a shop and grooming parlour for dogs.

In The Dog House is expected to open in mid-June and aims to offer customers competitive prices.

Co-director Adam Browse, whose wife Sherree will mostly be running the shop, said: “We are not a huge company with big overheads for offices, HR departments and warehousing like the corporate giants have.

“With less overheads, we hope to offer products at more reasonable prices, without compromising on quality.”

As well as catering for dogs, the shop welcome them inside the store.

Products on offer will include raw and dry food, natural treats, harnesses, toys and beds.

Renovation work on the building has included dropping the level of the floor, which has uncovered an old well. It is now being made into a feature of the shop floor – pictured above.

Most job positions at In The Dog House have already been filled, but more could be created as the business grows.

However, the owners are keen to hear from any dog groomers who would like to rent a space in the shop.
