A digital marketing agency startup which launched during the pandemic has scooped a prestigious award.

Peacock Digital Marketing, based in Brereton, was crowned Marketing, Advertising & PR StartUp of the Year at The Midlands StartUp Awards at Birmingham’s Custard Factory last Thursday.

As reported in Daily Focus, the company had also been shortlisted for Creative StartUp of the Year at the same awards, which seek to recognise the booming startup scene across the UK.

Kirsty Nelms, 34, founded Peacock Digital Marketing in July 2020. She said: “Just to make it as a finalist in two categories was amazing, so I was over the moon when they announced that my company had won!

“There were so many inspiring startups at the awards, so it’s a fantastic achievement and my first award win for the business.

“Anyone who has started their own business will know how easy it is to focus so much on it that you don’t always take the time to celebrate your achievements and milestones. This award has provided fantastic recognition for that and I’m so grateful.”

A record number of businesses applied to this year’s StartUp Awards, with 1,100 firms shortlisted across ten UK nations and regions.

The contribution of these firms – all of which were started in the last three years – resulted in over 5,000 new jobs since they were established and generated annual sales of £584 million.

The StartUp Awards, which launched in 2022, were created in collaboration with the team behind the Great British Entrepreneur Awards, one of the most successful awards programmes in the UK.
