A new Starbucks drive thru has opened in Tamworth, creating 21 jobs.
The store at Tame Leisure Park will be run by the coffee company’s first UK franchised business partner 23.5 Degrees and is that firm’s 100th Starbucks store.
To celebrate, the first 100 customers there upon opening today, 30 June, were given complimentary Starbucks reusable cups. A live coffee tasting event was also due to take place.
The store, on Ninian Way, will help to raise money for The Brain Tumour Charity and also provide complimentary coffee and refreshments for charity meetings.
Mark Hepburn, Managing Director of Southampton-based 23.5 Degrees, said: “Our 100th store in Tamworth is a culmination of collective efforts, shared values, and a common love for coffee.
“It embodies the impact we have made in countless lives and communities across the UK and in the towns and cities we have a presence.
“We’re looking forward to getting to know our neighbours and building relationships with the local community and especially the team from our charity partner, The Brain Tumour Charity.”
Starbucks aims to open 100 stores across the UK this year. It currently has around 20 stores in Staffordshire.
The new Tamworth store will be open between 6am and 9pm Monday to Sunday with delivery also available.
