Nelson’s Distillery & School has been recognised with a Tripadvisor award, putting it in the top 10 per cent of attractions in the world.

The coveted Tripadvisor 2023 Travellers’ Choice Award celebrates businesses that have consistently received great traveller reviews on Tripadvisor over the last 12 months.

The Uttoxeter-based company, a multi-award winning distiller of fine craft spirits, has picked up the award for the fifth consecutive year.

It offers a five-hour interactive and hands on experience where students learn the history of gin and get creative distilling their own.

A total of 305 reviews on Tripadvisor has led to a top five out of five score on the travel guidance platform.

Recent reviews describe the tour as “amazing” and “an extremely interesting experience”.

Neil Harrison, Nelson’s Distillery & School founder, owner and Master Distiller, said: “We are absolutely thrilled to receive the TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice Award for the fifth consecutive year.

“This recognition highlights our dedication to providing an exceptional experience, and we are incredibly grateful to our loyal customers for their continued support.

“A special thanks to our hardworking team – your passion, commitment and outstanding service make all the difference.

“Thank you for accompanying us on this journey and helping make Nelson’s Distillery and School a favourite destination among travellers worldwide.”

The firm has also just run its first rum distilling school.

And earlier this year its Nelson’s London Dry No.7 gin won a silver award in the London Spirits Competition 2023, as reported in Daily Focus here.

Review data from millions of travellers gave the title of this year’s best experience of the year to a full day tour of the Hawiian island of Oahu.

The world’s best food and drink experience was a walking tour of the foodie scene in Reykjavik, in Iceland.
