Howards Chartered Certified Accountants high flyer Rachael Wilson has been promoted to a multi-faceted Associate Director role.
As well as looking after her usual portfolio of clients at the Stafford firm, she will be getting involved in recruitment, marketing and fundraising.
Rachael joined Howards in 2014 and attained Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) qualifications four years later.
Her latest promotion follows success in earlier positions as manager and senior manager.
She is “surprised and delighted” to be offered the position of Associate Director and is looking forward to the challenges of her extended role.
“I like to get involved with fundraising having recently raised a small sum for Alzheimer’s Society by swimming 10 miles in 30 days in my local pool,” said Rachael.
“I also helped to organise Howards’ Three Peaks Challenge in April this year.”
Cornish-born Rachael was born and grew up in Cornwall but moved to Stafford in 2000 when she was aged 18.
While studying for her Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) qualification at Stafford College she began working for Deans Accountants of Stafford.
She gained ACCA part-qualified status there but paused her studies while she had her children (now 15 and 11).
After nearly 10 years at Deans she moved to Howards Accountants, recommencing her studies and gaining globally-recognised accountancy qualifications. She is now studying towards the Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA) qualification.
“Accountancy was not a career path I envisioned while growing up but something I kind of ‘fell into’ when browsing the Stafford College prospectus in 2002 while working in a shop,” Rachael added.
“I am dedicated to forming close relationships with clients and delivering a high level of customer service.”
