Waste management specialist Brown Recycling has teamed up with Staffordshire Football Association to support grassroots clubs and individuals to become more sustainable.
The Stoke-on-Trent-based company has been announced as Staffordshire FA’s Sustainability Partner and through the link up will work to have a positive impact on the local environment and communities.
It follows the launch of The Football Association’s new five-year sustainability strategy, called Playing for the Future.
Mitch Brown, Co-Managing Director at Brown Recycling, said: “We are thrilled to have recently agreed on a sponsorship and partnership deal with Staffordshire FA.
“At Brown Recycling, we strongly believe in sustainable and ethical business practices and doing positive things in our community, and we see this partnership as a fantastic opportunity to help drive environmental responsibility and promote sustainable practices in the football community. We look forward to seeing the positive impacts of this collaboration for many years to come.”
Gareth Thomas, Commercial & Partnerships Lead at Staffordshire FA, said: “We’re delighted to develop a partnership with such a well-known and established local brand in Brown Recycling.
“Having been introduced to Mitch and Andy at a Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce Business Leaders event – and subsequently met Dominique and Rod too – it was very apparent that not only are the company very knowledgeable and passionate about recycling and sustainability, but they are also very passionate about local grassroots football too.
“As more and more grassroots football clubs across Staffordshire manage and maintain their own facilities, our partnership with Brown Recycling can hopefully assist our member clubs with their total waste management too – whether that be waste, recycling, scrap metal, or skip hire.
“The recent launch of The FA’s sustainability strategy sets our clear objectives for how football can collectively play its part, and Staffordshire FA’s partnership with Brown Recycling can certainly assist us and our member clubs in achieving some of those objectives.”
Daily Focus recently reported that Brown’s has invested £700,000 in green machine technology to accelerate its drive towards Net Zero.
It also reported a series of leadership changes, which has seen Rod Brown become Chairman, his son and daughter, Mitch and Dom, become Co-Managing Directors and Andy Howe become Operations Director.
