The owners of a popular cocktail bar and restaurant have snapped up a neighbouring unit and unveiled plans to open their first café bar.
Jack Hardy and Ian Orton have taken on a unit in Piccadilly, in Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent, which is next door to one of their popular Bloom bars.
They expect to open Hideaway Hanley within the next four weeks offering fresh coffees, breakfasts, brunches and lunches. It will also be open in the evening.
Jack hopes it will help to bring more people back in to the city centre’s cultural quarter following the recent closures of NORTH Kitchen + Bar in that particular unit and The Quarter bistro also on Piccadilly.
He said: “NORTH and The Quarter are both missed. They offered a relaxed dining experience, which we believe the street needs.
“We had been weighing up our options for a while and decided to grab the opportunity when it came along.
“Hideaway Hanley will be far more relaxed than our offering at Bloom and will trade completely separately as a totally different concept.
“The cultural quarter in Hanley used to be thriving – we hope this venture will help it to become that again.”
The unit is currently undergoing a refurbishment and an opening date is expected to be announced soon.
Meanwhile, recruitment is taking place to fill 10 to 12 new jobs being created.
