Stoke City FC has made an exciting addition to the facilities at the bet365 stadium, investing in an industry-leading light show system set to make its debut before tomorrow’s fixture against Leeds United.
Confirmation of the investment comes just five days after the club announced plans for a “high-quality fan zone”, with bosses hoping that the move would allow the club to hold more significant events at the bet365 Stadium.
Supporters attending tomorrow’s game against Leeds have been advised to take their seats by 7.40pm, 20 minutes prior to the scheduled kick-off, in order to watch the light show – described as ‘five minutes of high-octane entertainment combining flashing lights and music’.
A Stoke City spokesperson said: “The latest addition to the matchday experience has been made possible by the installation of a new LED lighting system at the bet365 Stadium.
“Shortly prior to the team walkout, supporters will be entertained by a five-minute show, with fans advised to take their seats 20 minutes prior to the scheduled kick-off.
“Moving forward, light shows will be taking place at evening fixtures at the bet365 Stadium.”
Supporters with photosensitive disorders, sensitivities to strobe lighting or adverse reactions to flashing light have been advised that they may wish to avoid being within the stadium bowl until the show has concluded.
The announcement follows recent confirmation that the club intends to build a fan zone outside of the bet365 stadium, one of the latest major investments in the Club’s five-year development programme at the stadium and training ground.
Speaking about the fan zone proposals, Stoke City’s Chief Operating Officer, Simon King said: “Much like other parts of our venue, it is our intention for it to be used for way in excess of 20-30 home matchdays each year.
“It remains our ambition to hold more significant events at the bet365 Stadium, and clearly a high-quality fan zone will be a great addition to our offering.
“We have unbelievable support from our owners whose continuing investment in facilities is enhancing the Stoke City experience and providing an elite environment for supporters, players and staff.”
