The owner of Stafford’s Boris and Barbara boutique has decided to reopen her shop just days after closing, following a surge of support after being featured in Daily Focus.

Earlier this month, Monica Pearce made the decision to close the Eastgate Street shop due to a lack of footfall and struggling to make enough money.

Her plan was to concentrate her efforts on online trading, whilst also offering a pop-up shop and a click and collect service from her home in Stafford.

But she has decided to reopen the shop from today, 29 November.

Monica, pictured above, told Daily Focus: “The amount of love I got back from people when I announced the closure was unbelievable and completely overwhelming.

“I have invested everything in this shop. I am exhausted and on anti-depressants, but this has made me determined to give it another go and see what happens over the next year.”

Before closing, Monica sold off her stock with offers of up to 50 per cent off.

She has now changed her business model and used that income to invest in new stock, new products and new collections – with more budget friendly price points.

Monica, who has kept on her sales assistant, added: “People are over the moon to hear the shop is coming back, and even more so because I have a new variety of collections for those who want to buy wonderful clothes but with a smaller price tag.

“I’m now selling amazing dresses for £55, which is a lot cheaper than before, and I hope that this lower price range will bring more people into the shop.

“I want to make Stafford a town that people want to shop in. I just hope the support I have received will continue.”
