Staffordshire’s only drive-thru Greggs has opened, creating 24 jobs.
The shop at Springfields Retail Park, in Stoke-on-Trent, began welcoming customers on Monday.
The bakery giant took up the spot in Trent Vale building the drive-thru on space which was formerly parking spaces after fast food brand KFC pulled out of its plans to open there.
Gillian Long, Retail Operations Director for Greggs, said: “Our new drive-thru shop in Stoke-on-Trent has brought 24 new jobs to the local area, as well as providing customers with a modern, convenient new place to experience their favourite Greggs food.”
The Newcastle Road drive-thru, which has indoor and outdoor seating, is the 24th drive-thru opened by Greggs, but the first one in the county.
A spokesman said: “We are definitely on a roll with our drive-thru openings, opening our 24th drive-thru in Stoke-on-Trent!
“There’s no sign of us putting the brakes on these openings anytime soon, and we will be sure to share more information on any upcoming drive-thru locations.”
Greggs has seven regular stores in Stoke-on-Trent and 12 others elsewhere in Staffordshire including Newcastle-under-Lyme, Uttoxeter, Stafford, Rugeley, Penkridge and Cannock.
The Trent Vale drive-thru is open from 6am until 8pm Monday to Saturday and 8am until 7pm on Sundays.
Any further jobs created at the shop will be posted here.
