An entrepreneur who went from cooking up bone broth in her kitchen to turning over £27 million last year will be sharing her story as part of a special event to mark International Women’s Day.
Maxine Laceby, Founder and CEO of Absolute Collagen, will headline the event being staged by Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce on Friday, 8 March.
Maxine started the business at the age of 50 after splitting from her husband. She had no experience of running a company – or in the beauty industry – but Maxine and her two daughters have turned the brand into an award-winning one offering anti-aging daily liquid collagen supplements and a range of 10 other products.
Named Business Woman of the Year at the 2023 Enterprise Vision Awards, and with a host of other awards both for herself and her products, Maxine now sells supplements and cosmetics all over Europe.
Speaking about the event, she said: “I am all about empowering people, I now feel it is my purpose in life.”
The event promises to be a morning of empowerment, inspiration, celebration and networking.
It will also see the return of entrepreneur and motivational speaker Kirsty Hulse from Roar Training, who will be the host and led an address on self-confidence and self-belief at last year’s celebration.
The free event takes place at DoubleTree by Hilton Stoke-on-Trent, on Festival Park, between 9.30am and 11.30am.
