Award-winning Cottage Delight is expecting a 30 per cent increase in revenue after taking over a leading food supplier.
The Leek-based artisan manufacturer of tasty treats from luxury jams and chutneys to fudge has acquired Fosters Foods.
As a result its portfolio will be boosted by an extensive range of premium speciality products including bakery goods, confectionery and preserves.
Fosters Foods, part of the Moguntia Food Group, will transfer from its current base at Market Harborough to the Cottage Delight site over the next month.
The purchase maximises a series of recent investments by Cottage Delight, which is currently in the middle of a recruitment drive.
The acquisition will allow it to move into new food categories where it doesn’t currently operate such as confectionery and branded products, while also adopting new sales channels and customers.
Vickie Milligan, Managing Director, said: ‘In 2024, Cottage Delight is celebrating its 50-year anniversary by looking forward to the next 50 years.
“We have invested to build a more efficient operation, and more sustainable product. This acquisition allows us to grow our range and our sales to make the most of this investment and we are very happy to do this with such an established brand.”
Fosters Foods is a leading supplier of premium quality, ambient speciality foods and gifts to garden centres, farm shops, delis, tourist attractions and quality independent retailers.
It has an extensive range of products across bakery, confectionery, preserves, chutneys, drinks, gifting, personalised and themed products.
Five permanent staff members from Fosters Foods will be joining Cottage Delight’s existing workforce of 109.
