The firm behind the multi-million-pound Smithfield development in Stoke-on-Trent’s city centre has promoted three employees in-line with preparations for an ambitious year of growth in 2024.
Genr8 Developments was established in 2008 with the goal to bring transformational, mixed-use regeneration to UK towns and cities – and the business has evolved from an initial team of three into a major player in the regeneration sector.
To key into its growth strategy Alan Hall has been promoted to Director of Projects.
Alan has been pivotal to business growth having led on the delivery of Genr8’s £200m Smithfield Stoke-on-Trent scheme – a 1million-plus sq ft mixed-use development, where Genr8 has already delivered offices, Build to Rent (BTR) living , a Hilton Garden Inn, 730-space multi-storey car park (MSCP) and managed workspace.
He is also has responsibility for a £130m Huyton town centre regeneration project, secured through Genr8 Kajima Regeneration Ltd.
Meanwhile, Leonie Edwards has been promoted to the position of Finance Director after three years with the business. In addition to facilitating Genr8’s corporate financial management, Leonie leads on investment appraisals across development projects, ensuring effective working capital management.
Matt Brennan has assumed the position of Senior Project Manager, having joined Genr8 in July 2019 in his first client-side role. With experience managing key stakeholders and changing delivery requirements, Matt successfully delivered Genr8’s £15 million Smithfield MSCP, as well as working on a £65m BTR and Hilton hotel scheme at Rochdale Upperbanks and a £40 million Station Quarter Telford scheme.
Richard Ingham, one of the founding partners of Genr8, said: “Alan, Leonie, and Matt have all played a huge role in the success of Genr8 in recent years and individually have grown in their respective roles since joining us.
“We have always believed that we can only deliver the truly transformational projects we are involved with if we have the right people within the business, and this is absolutely the case for this trio of passionate individuals.”
Genr8 has delivered £200m of mixed-use development in recent years, principally in partnership with the public sector. With projects in the North West, North East, Midlands, and South of England, Genr8 continues to strengthen its position in the market through its joint venture partnership, Genr8 Kajima Regeneration Ltd.
