Building and plumbing merchants Jones & Shuffs has started their centenary celebrations by officially opening the doors to a brand-new Air Source Heat Pump and Renewable Energy Showroom and Training Centre.
The company which has been serving generations of tradespeople across Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire since 1924 has launched the facility in partnership with Daikin.
The new centre, based at the company’s Stoke branch, is the result of a significant investment made as part of Jones & Shuffs’ environmentally responsible commitment to the next generation.
It also pays tribute to the memory of former owner, the late Tony Jones, who passed away last year.
The Lord Mayor of Stoke-on-Trent, Councillor Majid Khan, officially opened the new centre alongside the Jones & Shuffs team, Daikin representatives, customers and other guests.
Tony’s wife and Company Director Julia Jones said: “Tony always saw Jones and Shuffs as a place where the trade and suppliers worked together and shared experience and knowledge.
“The opening of the new Air Source Heat Pump Showroom and Training Centre is an extension of this. People are looking to invest in new, more sustainable heating methods and we want to support a greener future.”
Now, whether you’re a tradesperson or an interested member of the public, you can call into the centre and see the low carbon equipment in action.”
The centre itself is powered by a dual-purpose air source heat pump system, which provides both heating and air conditioning. Inside the centre are working heat source pumps, and a domestic system complete with boiler for demonstration purposes.
Jones & Shuffs operates branches in Stoke and Longton. It employs more than 30 employees.
