Russell Roof Tiles has pledged to raise another £50,000 for good causes this year – with five local ones set to benefit.
The concrete roof tile manufacturer, based in Burton upon Trent, raised £80,000 through its fundraising activities last year.
The company has its own charity initiative called Give4Good which has donated over £135,000 to charities and good causes nominated by the firm’s 150 staff.
This year’s local recipients are Burton and District Mind, Burton YMCA, The Young Ones, Burton Soup Kitchen and Staffordshire, Shropshire and Chesire Blood Bikes.
Another five charities local to Lochmaben, in Scotland, where Russell Roof Tiles has another base, will also benefit as well as international organisations Odisha FC for a third year and Footprints Family, which is based in Burton but supports residents in Kenya, for the first time.
Andrew Haywood, Managing Director of Russell Roof Tiles, pictured above, said: “When we first set up Give4Good, we wanted to create a long-lasting legacy that would financially support charities for many years to come.
“We’re now on our third year of running our Give4Good initiative and we’ve forged strong relationships with each of the charities and the incredible people who keep them running.
“It has been eye-opening to hear their stories and heart-warming to know how much our support is appreciated. Together, we’re making a real difference.”
A number of new fundraising activities are planned to add to the company’s already popular events such as a weight loss challenge, golf day, football tournament and their Big Quiz Night.
Over the last two years, the Russell Roof Tiles team has spent over 700 hours volunteering and fundraising.
