A group of prominent businesswomen from Staffordshire have come together to launch a series of events specifically designed with inclusivity at their core.

The newly-launched ‘Knot Events’ group have already announced their inaugural event – Knot a Sports Day 2024 – a ‘playful twist’ on the traditional sports day format that will take place at Staffordshire University on Friday, 28 June.

Josie Morris, MD of Woolcool and one of the events’ organisers, said: “Although I love football and golf, I was fed up of being one of the only girls who attended these sort of events.

“That’s why as a group we have launched Knot Events – a new initiative that will promote inclusivity and raise money for a number of incredible local charities.

“Knot a Sports Day, our first event, will have something on offer for everyone, no matter age, ability or gender.

“We have teamed up with Bee Active who will bring the fun and inflatables for the day and we’ve got brilliant coaches on hand to support, organise and motivate teams for each game.”

Staffordshire businesses can enter a team of up to 10 participants to enjoy a day of activities, including physical and mental challenges.

Josie added: “We will celebrate the diversity, fun and warmth of our amazing county, as well as contributing together to the local community.

“The overall winners will win the bragging rights for the county and be crowned Champions, taking home the coveted Knot a Sport Day Trophy, which can take pride of place in your cabinet!”

A number of sponsorship opportunities are available and can be found on the website, here.
