An inspiring call to action is going out to Staffordshire business leaders in a specially-produced video highlighting the latest phase of the Local Skills Improvement Plan (LSIP).

The appeal to join the new LSIP initiative goes out to employers who have skills needs and are seeking to fill the gaps in their workforce.

Featured in the video – produced for Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce by award-winning creative content agency iCreation – are 12 passionate advocates of the Plan from across the county.

They urge businesses to join the series of forum events being organised by LSIP during March which bring together employers and training providers.

LSIP has already produced a comprehensive mapping of Staffordshire’s skills needs.

In its new phase it is taking action to match courses and training to employer needs, while boosting individuals’ career prospects, as part of a Roadmap for Change.

Leading the call to help create a pipeline of skills in the region, Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce Deputy Chief Executive Chris Plant opens the video by saying: “Now’s the time to play your part in the biggest-ever initiative to provide the people and skills we need for Staffordshire’s future.”

Other contributors are Andrew Whitehouse, TMT First Founder and Chair, Lisa Capper MBE, Principal and CEO of Stoke-on-Trent College, Kevin Davis, Chairman of Ladder for Staffordshire, Eve Davies, Communications Director at ProtectaPet, Nihal Dhillon, JCB Market and Application Specialist, Lizzie Ward, SAS Water Managing Director, Dan Waterman, Director at Carse & Waterman Productions, Mona Baig, Social Value Co-ordinator, Bowmer & Kirkland, Tom Nadin, Head of Projects and Business Services, Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce, Suzanne Quinn, LSIP Project Leader, Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce and Peggy Bareh, Founder of Passionate Carers and Cleaners.

Around 30 sessions are being held during March by Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce in their capacity as the Employer Representative for LSIP in the region.
