Around 40 small local businesses have been brought together in a new space dedicated to nurturing local talent, supporting emerging companies and fostering a sense of community collaboration.
The owners of Amerton Farm, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year, have invested £20,000 in creating Amerton Artisan Hall, in what used to be the attraction’s craft centre.
The new space will provide a platform for artisans, creatives and entrepreneurs to showcase their unique products and services.
It will open at 10am tomorrow, Wednesday, 1 May to coincide with Staffordshire Day.
Eunice Finney, Managing Director at Amerton Farm, situated in Stowe by Chartley, near Stafford, said: “Amerton Artisans is a celebration of the incredible talent within our community.
“We have dozens of businesses showcasing their work and we are encouraging them to craft and show them making their products whilst they are on site with us.
“We want to bring together residents, businesses and artisans to support, spend and shop local.”
A series of pods and mini pod stations have been created in the hall.
Traders include eco-friendly cosmetics brand Beauty Favours, spirits company Mercia Distillery, fudge and chocolate bar seller Treat Boxes, Hellbent Woodturning, which creates custom wooden pieces, bespoke upholsterer Lulu Creations and bespoke stationery firm Dotty About Fred.
Other goods and services on offer include premium candles and wax melts, crochet items, paper crafts and haberdashery supplies and an artist taking commissions for animal paintings.
There are also plans to rent other spaces – such as a mini pod station and a workshop area – out to other businesses.
And Eunice, who bought Amerton Farm eight years ago, said the next stage will be a conference room and hotdesking area with monthly breakfast meetings.
