B&M’s newest Staffordshire store will open its doors on Tuesday after creating 43 jobs.
The discount retailer has taken over the unit previously occupied by Poundstretcher at Cannock’s Linkway Retail Park.
The 19,796 sq ft space has undergone a comprehensive internal and external refurbishment programme and will be officially opened at 8am on 23 July.
Colleagues were asked to nominate a local charity they thought should be recognised for the work they do in the community and Cannock & District Foodbank was picked.
The foodbank’s team has given out 238,824 kg of food to 21,775 members of the public since opening in 2012 and a representative will be cutting the ribbon to open the store.
B&M is also donating a £250 voucher to the good cause.
A B&M spokesperson said: “We’re feeling extremely positive about the creation of more jobs for local people, and we hope customers are going to be delighted with their new store.”
The spokesperson added: “Cannock & District Foodbank really stood out for us, so we wanted to give them some VIP treatment as a thank you for all the hard work that they have done. We hope that our donation can help them to continue the great work they do.”
B&M operates from more than 700 high street and out of town stores across the UK with five million visits per week.
The company has around 20 stores in Staffordshire.
