Capula welcomes record apprentice intake as ‘Class of 2024’ joins company

Industrial automation and control systems integrator for digital solutions Capula has welcomed a record number of apprentices to its ranks 

The apprentice class of 2024 is the Stone-based company’s largest annual intake and sees 23 new recruits alongside 3 existing employees setting off on their apprenticeship pathway. 

They will study a range of engineering and business disciplines at academic institutes in Staffordshire and Birmingham. 

Maria Carroll, Learning and Development Manager said: “We were delighted to see our apprentice recruitment programme attract over 250 applicants this year, which is a more than threefold increase compared to 2023. This is helping us to strengthen our position as one of the largest degree and higher apprenticeship programme providers in the Staffordshire area. 

“I am delighted to be welcoming such exceptional and diverse talent into our organisation. I am excited to be supporting our new apprentices through their learning journeys” 

“We recently gathered our latest intake, giving our new (and familiar) faces a big welcome, enabling them to meet some of our senior leaders and helping them to settle into their roles.” 

Among those beginning their academic journey at Newcastle College are Daniel Pownall who starts his Level 3 Engineering Fitter Apprenticeship and Joshua Rathbone who starts his level 2 Engineering Operative apprenticeship. 

Other include Roman Thursfield and Lucy Oldham studying Project Management at Aston University and Isabelle Evans embarks on a Chartered Surveyor Apprenticeship at Birmingham City University.  

Three existing employees, Ben Smith, Alex Wixon and Sally Parker will begin the level 7 Digital and Technology Solutions Apprenticeship at Staffordshire University, with these postgraduate level students being another first for Capula.
