Staffordshire Chambers’ Start-Up programme is celebrating another milestone after helping its 2,000th business to get off the ground in the county.

And applications for the programme’s next free-to-attend cohort are now open for would-be entrepreneurs.

The three-stage business start-up programme, first launched in 2005, is designed to support aspiring entrepreneurs at every step of their journey. Participants benefit from a comprehensive curriculum that includes essential topics such as business planning, finance and first steps, cashflow, research, marketing and pitching your business.

Tom Nadin, Head of Projects and Business Services at Staffordshire Chambers, said: “Reaching 2,000 startups is a testament to the entrepreneurial spirit that thrives in Staffordshire.

“We are incredibly proud to be a part of these inspiring journeys and to support the growth of new businesses that are vital to our local economy.

“The programme not only provides practical tools and knowledge but also fosters a community where new entrepreneurs can connect, learn, and grow together.”

Funded by Staffordshire County Council, Tamworth Borough Council, and the Chambers, the programme provides participants with crucial resources and guidance, ensuring they have the tools needed to turn their ideas into thriving businesses.

The sessions, offered both in-person at the Chambers’ offices in Stoke-on-Trent and at the Tamworth Enterprise Centre, as well as online, are tailored to meet the diverse needs of new business owners.

Additionally, entrepreneurs have access to one-on-one support from experienced business advisors, along with valuable templates and factsheets to guide their business development.

Staffordshire Chambers is now opening spaces for the next cohort of entrepreneurs looking to join the programme. Whether you are just starting out or looking to grow your existing business, the Chambers’ Start-Up programme offers invaluable support and resources.
