Three local acts are set to perform an intimate gig in a historic town centre church.
Borogoves, Walter Kocays and Dead Bird Lady will take to the stage at St Giles’ Church in Newcastle, in a Honey Box Live event made possible thanks to UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) support.
Limited tickets are available for the gig, which will take place on Friday, October 25, at 7pm. The striking venue was built by Sir George Gilbert Scott, the architect behind St Pancras Station in London, in 1873.
Kez Liddle, of headline act Borogoves, said: “Playing in a church is a dream for us, and fits so well with the atmosphere we’re trying to create as a band. We’re so excited to be able to play in such a beautiful location with incredible acoustics too.
“It’s a privilege to play with phenomenal support acts and we’re really grateful to the teams at St Giles Church and Honey Box Live for the support. It’s going to be a fantastic night out.”
Filmed in front of a live audience and streamed online, Honey Box Live shows aims to promote local music talent and provide a platform for musicians to reach new audiences.
Co-producer Peter Herbert, of King Street Studios, said: “It’s essential to provide platforms like this for local talent, not only to showcase their music but to expand the reach of what Newcastle-under-Lyme has to offer. Events like this help build vital support networks and create professional development opportunities for young and emerging musicians, ensuring the future of our grassroots music scene is bright.”
