An insulation firm which is part of a Belgium-headquartered group of companies has unveiled plans to invest in a new facility at its Stoke-on-Trent site.
Recticel Insulation wants to build a new dust bagging building at its base in Meir Park, an investment which it says will ‘facilitate the continued growth of the company’.
A planning application submitted to Stoke-on-Trent City Council seeks permission for a 145.28 sq m dust bagging facility for the materials used in the manufacturing of polyisocyanurate thermal insulation on its current yard.
The company provides high-performance acoustic and thermal insulation solutions for both residential and non-residential buildings and is part of Recticel Group which is active in construction industries across the world.
A document submitted with the plans reads: “As part of Recticel sustainability journey we want to further process dust to allow for more recycling opportunities in our Belgian plant.
“This will also reduce the amount, of wagons visiting [the] site and reduce our carbon footprint.
“To allow us to do this we need to add an extra step into our dust system.
“The new building will house the additional dust separation system.”
Dust collected will be transported to Belgium for further processing.
Recticel Group recently announced its third consecutive half year organic sales growth since the start of the contraction of the European building industry.
The company said it is once again outperforming tough markets and that like-for-like sales have grown double-digit in key geographies including the United Kingdom.
The Stoke-on-Trent site employs 125 people.
