A joinery firm has been recognised with a national industry award as it continues to grow its team and expand its reach.
Leek-based Brookeswood Joinery took home the Best Window of the Year title at this year’s Build It Awards in London for its Heritage Flush Casement Window.
The annual awards celebrate achievements across the self-build and renovation sector, bringing together architects, manufacturers and industry specialists.
Brookeswood’s winning design forms part of its heritage range, created for period and conservation properties. The window combines traditional flush casement styling with modern timber engineering to meet current efficiency and conservation standards.
Director Bradley Brookes said: “It was a fantastic night at the Build It Awards and we were delighted to win the Best Window of the Year category. Our Heritage Flush Casement Windows represent everything we stand for at Brookeswood – craftsmanship, innovation and a real respect for traditional design.
“To be recognised among so many outstanding projects and products is truly special and will help spur us on to continue pushing the standards of quality and craftsmanship within our industry.”
The company has also recently welcomed two new members to its team – joinery apprentice Kris Bendall and sales and projects executive Liam Allen, who will focus on developing Brookeswood’s presence in Derbyshire, Cheshire, Nottinghamshire and Manchester.
Brad said: “I’ve known Liam for a long time – we actually went to school together – and he’s a fantastic asset to the Brookeswood team. He’s got lots of experience in the construction industry and the skills he has learnt there will be invaluable to us.
“He’s already hit the ground running and has quickly become an integral part of the team. We are looking forward to seeing his career develop with us and seeing how he can help us expand our client base further.”
Earlier this year, Brookeswood exhibited at Grand Designs Live at the NEC and launched a redesigned website showcasing its range of timber windows, doors and staircases, as well as introducing a new customer aftercare programme called Ensure.
