Browns Distribution has made its biggest-ever investment into its team coinciding with a recruitment drive being undertaken due to new contract wins.

The family-run firm, headquartered in Stoke-on-Trent, has given its 78 drivers salary increases of between 3.5 per cent and 7.3 per cent.

Recruitment is also taking place to add 10 new full-time drivers to the team.

And Browns, which has invested more than £5.6 million into its fleet since 2023, is also carrying out work to upgrade its telematics, ensuring clearer data is obtained to strengthen planning.

The Browns fleet has also benefitted from recent investments.

Managing Director David Brown Jnr said: “This is the biggest investment we’ve ever made in our team, and it reflects the strong position Browns is in right now.

“Demand for our services keeps growing, we’re adding new contracts, and we’re bringing more people into the business to keep pace.

“Our drivers sit at the heart of everything we do, so backing them with better pay, better kit and better support is the right thing for the business and the right thing for our people.”

Investments into the Browns fleet has seen the addition of 34 new trucks and 44 new trailers.

‘Several’ new logistics contract wins have been secured this year.

David added: “We’ve secured several new contract logistics wins this year, driven by businesses looking for a partner to manage their full supply chain solution. These agreements cover everything from storage and fulfilment to nationwide pallet delivery, and they’re a big part of why we’re expanding our team.”

  1. 7% on top of rubbish pay, is still rubbish pay. If they’re doing as well as they’re suggesting they can do much better. Shame on you Browns Distribution
