Video production company Reels in Motion has clinched two awards for a project aimed at breaking down social barriers in cycling.
The Stoke-on-Trent-based firm worked with Team PAU on the film called Closing the Gap, which serves as the pilot episode for an upcoming eight-part documentary series that explores the realities of junior cycling in the UK. It highlights the challenges many young riders face in accessing elite-level sport and includes a special feature from Olympic legend Sir Bradley Wiggins.
The production, which was filmed in Staffordshire, was recognised in the 2026 Lens Awards, where it won Gold in the Best Use of Video from the Sport, Travel and Leisure and Tourism Sectors, and Silver in Best Documentary Style Video.
It is said to have made a ‘significant’ impact since its launch, sparking conversations in the cycling community, and positioning the initiative as a leading voice in junior sport inclusion.
Account director Matt Hubbard said: “To receive not one, but two awards for this project is a huge honour.
“Our team has worked tirelessly to bring this documentary series to life, and to see the pilot recognised in this way is incredibly rewarding.
“This film is about more than sport, it’s about visibility, opportunity, and challenging inequality. We’re proud to share this achievement with Team PAU and the inspiring young riders who made it possible.”

Filmed during the renowned Junior Tour of Mendip, the episode combines fast-paced race footage with intimate personal stories.
Paul Ball, CEO of Team PAU, added: “We approached Reels in Motion with an ambitious brief, knowing it was an important story to tell for the cycling world.
“Our goal is to encourage young cyclists to dream big while providing the support to help them get there, and this documentary series showcases this.
“We are thrilled with the creativity, dedication, and care Reels in Motion has put into this project.”
New episodes of the documentary series are set for release from 26 February and will premiere on PAU’s YouTube.
