Jobs boost for Lichfield as Kyocera grows European HQ team

1 min read

The first phase of team expansion has begun at Kyocera SGS Precision Tools Europe as the manufacturer continues its investment and expansion in the Lichfield area.

New jobs are up for grabs as the carbide tooling company progresses with its move to a new European headquarters at Fradley Business Park.

The roles reflect continued demand for high-performance cutting tools and engineering support across the UK’s manufacturing sector. They include CNC setter/operator positions across day and weekend shifts and a finance assistant role.

The company is also finalising recruitment for several further positions.

Daily Focus revealed in January that Kyocera SGS Precision Tools Europe is making a significant investment into moving to the site from Wokingham, in Berkshire, and will co-locate with Kyocera Unimerco.

The move will create Kyocera’s largest carbide tooling manufacturing site in Europe and a purpose-built 6.4-acre facility will significantly increase production capacity and introduce enhanced research and development capabilities.

The company has already taken on some new starters within its distribution centre and customer service teams on the site, which is expects to be fully operational by the end of April.

Hugh Welch, European Managing Director, said: “As we continue our journey to Fradley, investing in our people is just as important as investing in our facilities and technology.

“We are pleased to have already welcomed several new colleagues, and we look forward to further strengthening our capabilities through these new roles.”
