Property business Bradford Estates is has launched a seven-figure investment programme across its nationwide portfolio.

The Weston-under-Lizard-based firm, which is on the Staffordshire-Shropshire border, is carrying out work across its portfolio of 15 estates which total 420,000 sq ft.

The first project has seen six figures spent on upgrading the external features at Wortley Business Park in Leeds, which Bradford Estates acquired last year as part of a growth programme to double the size of its industrial investments.

Improvements include a roof replacement, external redecoration of the cladding and the installation of new doors, windows and signage.

Bradford Estates Property Director Chris Hodson said: “Our refurbishment programme across our institutional grade estates nationwide demonstrates our commitment to aligning the entire portfolio with our long-term investment growth strategy.

“By upgrading these sites to a high specification, we ensure that our diverse occupier base benefits from modern, fit-for-purpose facilities that match their prime locations.”

He added: “We were excited to add an estate in Leeds to the portfolio and our continued investment through this refurbishment project demonstrates our confidence in the economic development and growth evident in the city and surrounding areas.

“Wortley Business Park already offered occupiers superb access to both Leeds city centre and the surrounding motorway network but that location is now matched by the quality of the refurbishment and we look forward to welcoming our next new business to the site.”

Millie Gibson Graham, Managing Director of mobile bar business Mix & Twist, based at Wortley, said: “It is nice to know that the owners care about how the business park looks and the tenants that are working here. They are making sure the business park is fit for purpose which we appreciate, especially when our clients come to visit.”

Bradford Estates’ primary landholding is 12,000 acres running from the Shropshire-Staffordshire border up to Stafford.

Its commercial estates are all over the UK and house including popular brands ScrewfixHalfordsCrown PaintsEuro Car Parts and Plumbase, as well as many regional and local enterprises, with an occupier base which now exceeds 100 businesses.
