A Stoke-on-Trent logistics firm has promoted a former apprentice to its most senior transport role after more than a decade with the business.
Emerge has appointed Tasha Oram as head of transport, more than 10 years after she joined the Festival Park-based company as an apprentice and working her way through the ranks.
Logistics has been part of her life from an early age, having spent school holidays accompanying her father on truck journeys.
Tasha said: “I’ve grown up around the world of transport and have built my career with Emerge, so I couldn’t be prouder to be stepping into this role.
“We have a dedicated team who take real pride in what they do, and I’m excited to continue building on that as we deliver for our customers every day. It’s a privilege to lead this department, and I’m looking forward to supporting our people and helping them grow alongside the business.”
Managing partner Richard Harris said Tasha’s appointment demonstrated the opportunities available to employees who develop their careers within the company, which is part of the Palletways UK network.
He said: “Tasha’s progression is a brilliant example of what can be achieved through dedication and hard work. She understands our operation inside out and has earned the respect of colleagues and drivers alike. We’reconfident she will continue to strengthen our transport offering in the years ahead.”
Warwick Trimble, network director for Palletways UK, added: “Congratulations to Tasha on this well-earned appointment. It’s fantastic to see a new generation of leaders rising through the logistics sector, and we’re proud that our members are helping make that happen.”
Emerge is one of more than 130 independent transport providers that form part of the Palletways UK network, which delivers palletised freight across the UK and Europe.

Congratulations, what a great story of personal development. Wishing you every success in your new role.
