The launch date of a new independent venue created to bring more live entertainment to Stoke-on-Trent has been revealed – with a packed programme of events running through until Christmas.
Earlier this month, Daily Focus exclusively reported that work had started to build a new entertainment and hospitality venue on the historic Spode site in Stoke.
The Warehouse at Potbank, the latest venture from independent hospitality business The QUARTER, will officially launch on Friday, 9 October with a live performance from ABBA tribute act Viva ABBA, followed by The Warehouse’s resident DJ until midnight.
The venue aims to strengthen Stoke-on-Trent’s evening economy by offering a year-round programme of live music, DJ nights and themed events. Others announced for October and November include 80s and 90s DJ nights, a glow in the dark DJ night, and tribute evenings to Elton John and Meat Loaf, and Coldplay.
The festive season then takes over with Warehouse Christmas DJ party nights.

Josef Bailey, co-owner of The QUARTER, said: “We’re creating somewhere everyone can enjoy themselves, whether you’re coming with work colleagues, celebrating with family, dancing with friends or simply enjoying great live music.
“We want it to become one of those places where memories are made.”
Inspired by the famous Blue Italian Spode design, the venue combines the heritage of the former Spode factory with contemporary lighting, music and entertainment. Its launch will see The QUARTER expand its workforce to 75 employees.
Although the venue has a capacity for up to 400 people, events will initially be limited to around 200 guests as the team builds up its programme.

Josef and wife Annmarie, pictured above, opened their first venue in Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent, ten years ago with seven members of staff.
The QUARTER was launched six years ago, followed by The Factory Floor, also at Spode.
The couple said the new venue is for all ages and designed around “live music, big nights out and unforgettable experiences” including the quality and attention to detail The QUARTER has become known for.
Josef added: “The Warehouse is another investment in Stoke-on-Trent because we believe in this city, we believe in its people, and we believe Stoke deserves brilliant places to enjoy.”
