A popular village pub is set to reopen its doors after undergoing a £150,000 refurbishment.

The Goat’s Head, a 17th century village pub in Abbots Bromley, is reopening on Friday, 9 October following weeks of work which has seen the venue undergo a complete facelift.

It closed in mid-September to allow the work to take place. Decorators, carpenters and electricians have all been busy at the pub in recent weeks as part of the work, which will see the introduction of a new snug room and extended bar area. The garden is also having a makeover with a new look.

Customers will also be able to enjoy fresh pizza at the pub with the addition of La Capra Pizzeria which will provide food onsite, as a takeaway and home delivery.

Landlord Ian Hillman, said: “It has been a crazy few weeks with lots of work taking place every day, and we can’t wait to welcome people back to the pub.

“When they arrive I think they’ll be surprised at how much work has taken place, we have completely changed things while keeping the charm of what makes The Goat’s Head a pub people enjoy visiting.”

The pub is also bucking a national trend, with revenue up 45% compared to last year.

Ian added: “We are very blessed to have a regular customer base and also work hard to try and make sure we have regular events and entertainment to bring new people to us as well.”
