YMCA North Staffordshire appealing for support to collect 500 boxes of chocolates to help bring some festive cheer to families in need this Christmas.

The Battle of the Boxes initiative invited local businesses, organisations and individuals to donate boxes of popular Christmas chocolate assortments for inclusion in the charity’s annual festival hampers.

To add a little friendly competition, the charity will keep a running tally of which chocolate brand receives the most donations out of Celebrations, Quality Street, Heroes and Roses.

A spokesperson said: “YMCA North Staffordshire is aiming to collect 500 boxes of chocolates to include in its annual Christmas hampers, helping bring a little extra joy to families across the city who may otherwise struggle to afford the essentials, let alone the treats that make Christmas special.

“Whether you are a loyal fan of one particular brand or simply want to support a brilliant local cause, every box donated will help make Christmas that little bit sweeter for a family in North Staffordshire.”

YMCA North Staffordshire will work alongside a network of local partners to distribute the Christmas hampers filled with festive goodies and essential items.

Chocolate donations can be dropped off at YMCA North Staffordshire’s reception on Harding Road in Hanley, labelled for the attention of Martyna Kiedel.
