More than 325 businesses benefitted from Staffordshire County Council’s enterprise centres last year – with 46 new businesses joining their fold.
The eight enterprise centres – located in Burton upon Trent, Newcastle-under-Lyme, Cannock and Stafford – includes offices, workshops and industrial units designed to allow start-ups and small businesses to develop.
Tenants benefit from flexible monthly leases, affordable rates and wider business support, while hot desks and meeting rooms are also available to book every day at selected centres.
Rob Mackley, pictured above, moved his web design company, Red Box, to Shire Hall Business Centre in Stafford last year.
He said: “We were looking for something flexible and professional with arrangements for meeting rooms as well, so this place really fitted the bill.
“It has been really helpful to work in a place like this with other businesses. Having a professional office space – where you can hot desk or have a small office – allows you to go after bigger clients because you’ve got that next level of professionalism.”
Philip White, Staffordshire County Council’s Cabinet Member for Economy and Skills, added: “Our enterprise centres are at the heart of Staffordshire’s commitment to supporting small businesses.
“We host businesses from a huge range of industries, showcasing the breadth of talent and ambition across the county. It’s a great community and I was so pleased to see 46 new businesses become a part of it last year.”
