Tamworth TikTok star Spudman has agreed a partnership which will see him give away 730 free jacket potato meals.

The deal with London Northwestern Railway (LNR) means Ben Newman – known as Spudman – will help promote LNR’s new fleet of trains on the popular Trent Valley route connecting Cheshire, Staffordshire, Warwickshire and Buckinghamshire with London.

Free jacket potatoes will be up for grabs in St Editha’s Square, in Tamworth, between 10am and 3pm on Saturday, March 7.

The giveaway is the last of three special weekends, kicking off in Milton Keynes on 21 February and then in Crewe’s Town Square on 28 February.

Ben said: “I feel very lucky to have followers who are willing to travel such long distances to visit me, so working with a train operator which is introducing brand-new trains and making it even easier for them as a result makes perfect sense. I can’t wait to visit Milton Keynes, Crewe and then back to where it all started in Tamworth!”

Spudman rose to fame uploading customer interaction videos from his van in Tamworth’s town centre. His videos have had more than 79.4 million views on YouTube and he boasts 4.2 million followers and 110.5 million likes on TikTok.

David Watkin, commercial director at LNR, said: “Tamworth station is at the heart of the Trent Valley Line, so partnering with the town’s most famous internet star felt like a natural fit to help introduce our new fleet.

“We’re thrilled to be bringing Spudman to Milton Keynes and Crewe for the first time, giving local communities a chance to try one of his legendary creations.”

Fans must sign up for a voucher here in order to receive a free jacket potato.

To celebrate the new Class 730 trains, Spudman will also be serving limited-edition LNR-themed spuds featuring a pesto chicken topping, with a percentage of the profits going to charity.
