A team of 11 employees from National Forest Adventure Farm have raised more than £8,000 for charity by tackling the UK’s three largest mountains during the recent heatwave – and are now aiming to push the total beyond £10,000.
The group covered a total ascent of over 10,000ft by scaling Ben Nevis in Scotland, Scafell Pike in the Lake District and Snowdon in Wales to complete the National Three Peaks Challenge within 24 hours.
Described by the group as their toughest fundraiser yet, money raised from their challenge will support the National Forest Adventure Farm’s charity of the year, Midlands Air Ambulance.

To help reach the £10,000 milestone, the Tatenhill attraction is hosting its Big Farm Fundraiser on Sunday, 5 July, featuring family activities and entertainment, mascot challenges and the usual farm attractions.
Half of every ticket sold will be donated to the appeal, with National Forest Adventure Farm mascot Crumpet the Cow going head-to-head with MAAC the Pup for Midlands Air Ambulance in a series of challenges.
Ivor Robinson, who owns the National Forest Adventure Farm with his brother Tom, said: “The Three Peaks Challenge was definitely our hardest fundraiser yet and I couldn’t be prouder of the whole team that took part. Difficult enough in normal weather conditions we faced the extra challenge of it being on one of the hottest days of the year.
“It will be nice to have our feet firmly on level ground for the Big Farm Fundraiser and hope everyone comes out to join us in having some fun on the farm while raising money for a very good cause.”\
National Forest Adventure Farm supports a different charity each year, and last year raised just over £6,000 for Kids’ Village. Previous fundraisers have included sponsored walks and charity netball and football tournaments.
The Big Farm Fundraiser takes place between 10am and 5pm, with tickets starting from £13.15.
