Guided tours of exciting progress at the Spode site take place on American Independence Day – this Saturday, 4 July.
The day of free classes – from pilates to flower arranging – and behind the scenes viewings of rooms and buildings which have been closed for almost 20 years, is billed as “Older than USA”, as the Spode site opened in 1770, six years before the Declaration of Independence.
Entry is free to the event, which takes place between 10am and 4pm.
There’s food and drink, Stoke on Trent College’s summer art exhibition, history tours of the Spode Museum live music between 2pm and 4 pm, an artisan market and an open door to see artists and makers in the amazing Acava Studios.
