Precision components manufacturer NEIDA is investing £1.5 million into new machines before the end of the year to boost its manufacturing capabilities.
The Stoke-on-Trent company is making the investment in response to continued demand, helping it meet customer needs and secure new contracts.
An initial investment of £300,000 has been made on two new STAR and Sliding Head CNC production machines, which will be delivered before the end of the year. The company also has plans to make a further major investment of over £1 million in five extra machines by the end of the year.
The machines will increase efficiency and are part of the company’s investment plan for 2026.
NEIDA currently employ 75 people at its Trentham Lakes base, a 100,000 square foot purpose-built production and warehouse facility, which manufactures bespoke turned and milled components for some of the most demanding sectors across the globe.
David Brown, CEO of NEIDA said: “We are continuing to invest in the future of NEIDA, with a clear focus on machinery, technology, skills and our manufacturing capabilities. We have two new STAR machines, an SW-12 and SL-10, due to be delivered in the coming weeks to support increased demand in the market.
“These investments are designed to strengthen our capacity, efficiency and technical expertise, while ensuring we remain responsive to the evolving needs of our customers. We aim to build on the capabilities we have developed over many years and continue providing the quality, reliability and flexibility our customers expect from NEIDA.”
NEIDA has apprentices across the business, including employees currently undertaking the Level 4 Quality Practitioner Apprenticeship, and are supporting the development of the programme with Newcastle and Stafford Colleges Group and the Stoke-on-Trent & Staffordshire Institute of Technology.
The company also continues to attend careers and STEM events with schools, speaking to 14- to 16-year-olds about engineering, manufacturing and the different career pathways available.
Sales and Marketing Manager Sara Scattergood added: “Upskilling staff and giving them the opportunity to grow is a real company aim. We have a couple of staff members currently on the course and NEIDA is proud to be playing an active role in helping to shape and support the course content so it reflects the skills and knowledge required within industry.
“Attending these events gives us the opportunity to speak to young people about what we do and the pathways they can take to becoming an engineer.”
