New £250k children’s play village set to open in time for the summer holidays as Waterworld expands again

The popular Waterworld resort is set to expand again with the opening of a new immersive children’s play village.

Adventure Village is the latest investment at the Stoke-on-Trent-based Waterworld Leisure Resort, which is already home to an aqua park, M Club Spa and Fitness centre and two indoor mini golf courses.

Creating up to 10 jobs and set to open in the summer, the new play centre will be themed around come of Staffordshire’s most iconic landmarks.

It has been designed and built by DKMD Role-Play Villages.

A spokesperson said: “Children will be able to go fishing on our very own Staffordshire Barge, take to the stage at our recreation of the famous New Vic Theatre, create a teapot in our very own kiln, and much more.

“This immersive role play village will awaken the imaginations of all those who have a desire to explore and play. The village has been designed for the early years and primary school audience – to not only bring joy to children, but allow adults to play alongside them too.”

A Waterworld spokesperson said: “Parents and carers will also be able to relax and unwind in our on-site café whilst the children play safely in our secure and supervised environment.

“There is a real focus on healthy food options for both adults and children and even an offering of homemade vegetable and fruit purees to support parents through their baby weaning journey.”

The café will feature artwork from local students.

Families will access the play centre from the main Waterworld entrance. An opening date is set to be announced in the next few weeks.

Waterworld Leisure Resort has invested more than £12 million into its Festival Park site over the past few years, including adding four new rides at the aqua park.

A new Nurture Childcare business is also due to open at the complex later this year, further expanding the early years offering and building on the success of a first site at M Club in Newcastle – under – Lyme.
