The parliamentary candidates for Stoke-on-Trent Central are set to go head-to-head in a business-focused hustings event just one week before the general election.
All standing candidates have been invited to take part in the event at Commerce House, Festival Park, on Friday, 28 June – just six days before the country goes to the polls on 4 July.
Candidates will participate in an open discussion around the business priorities for the next Government at both a local and national level.
Declan Riddell, Policy Adviser at Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce, who are hosting the event, said: “Stoke-on-Trent Central is one of the country’s most closely-contested constituencies.
“This hustings event is a valuable platform for open dialogue, ensuring that local businesses properly understand the views of the candidates on the issues that are most important to them.
“Dr. Chandra Kanneganti of the Conservative Party and Gareth Snell of the Labour Party have already confirmed their attendance, with more candidates set to do so in the coming days.
“Remember to book your place in advance to participate in what promises to be an insightful debate.”
As well as giving updates on their respective priorities for the business community, the candidates will answer questions from the audience.
Open to both Chamber members and non-members, the hustings event will take place at Commerce House on Festival Park, Stoke-on-Trent, the headquarters of Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce.
The session will be hosted by Nigel Pye, Daily Focus Editor and Head of Creative at i-Creation, who has covered local and national politics and elections for 30 years.
A full report of the event will be published on Daily Focus in the days following the event.
Advanced booking for the event, set to take place from 8:30am – 10:30am, are essential. No walk-ins will be permitted. Places can be booked here.
