Up to 120 vehicles representing more than a century of automotive history are expected at a town centre car show taking place next month.

The Spring edition of Castle Classics returns on Saturday, 28 March with Newcastle-under-Lyme’s Ironmarket and High Street set to be transformed into a showcase of motoring heritage.

The free, family-friendly event will see vehicles judged across five categories, with awards presented from a stage on Ironmarket from 2.30pm.

Vehicles expected range from early 1900s models through to modern classics of the 1990s and early 2000s.

The event, which takes place between 10am and 3pm, is delivered by Newcastle-under-Lyme BID and supported by The Red Haired StokieEnvy Autos and 6 Towns Radio.

BID Manager Charl Pearce said: “Castle Classics has quickly established itself as a key date in our events calendar. It creates a strong visual presence in the town centre and attracts a wide audience, from dedicated collectors to families enjoying a day out.

“Events like this are an important part of our wider programme to drive footfall and showcase Newcastle-under-Lyme as a welcoming and vibrant place to visit.”

Mark Davies, who exhibited at the October event, added: “It’s great to see such a wide range of vehicles all in one place and to have the chance to chat with other exhibitors throughout the day.

“The town centre setting makes a real difference — you’re not just in a field somewhere. There are plenty of places to grab a coffee, have a wander and enjoy the atmosphere, and the public engagement is always excellent.”

Entry is £4 per vehicle and pre-registration is required.
