Waterstones gives update on Hanley store after Trentham announcement

1 min read

Waterstones has confirmed what its new Trentham shop means for its existing store in Stoke-on-Trent city centre.

Daily Focus reported last week that the book retailer is opening another store at the Trentham Estate later this autumn.

Waterstones has now said its Hanley store, on Parliament Row, will continue to trade when the new shop opens.

A spokesperson told Daily Focus: “Stoke-on-Trent is a city of many readers, and we believe it has space for a variety of bookshops.

“The new bookshop at Trentham Gardens, will be Waterstones’ second location in the area, providing a convenient complementary offer alongside our bookshop in nearby Hanley.”

The new Trentham store is expected to create up to six new jobs, both full time and part time.

The exact opening date and location within the tourist attraction’s retail village is yet to be confirmed.
