A fast-growing Staffordshire business with a number of celebrity clients has opened a new warehouse, which will see the team more than double in size.
Steel Door Company, founded in January 2023 by Penkridge entrepreneurs Josh Smithyman, Jade Smithyman and Sam Hackett, designs, manufactures and installs bespoke slimline steel doors and windows for homes and commercial properties across the UK.
The business has moved into a new 5,500 sq ft warehouse on Redhill Industrial Estate in Stafford and is already in talks to take on another unit on the same site. They plan to create a showroom in Stafford, as well as moving all their manufacturing and service to the town.
The move, from their previous location on Brookmead Industrial Estate in Stafford, will also see the team increase from 14 people to 30.
The expansion follows rapid growth, with the business completing more than 1,000 installations nationwide in just over two years. High-profile customers include Olly Murs, Dr Ranj and Mark Wright, who have shared their installations with millions of followers on Instagram.
The company’s own social media presence has grown to more than 22,000 followers, with viral videos showcasing installations such as a steel-framed wine storage space.
Steel Door Company’s products, known for their slim 20mm profiles and wide range of customisation options, are all made and fitted by its in-house team, who offer same-day quotes, eight-week lead times and a two-year warranty.
Products include single and double doors, internal and external doors, sliding systems, fixed steel windows and side panels, as well as customisable handles, colours and glass options.
Co-founder Josh Smithyman said: “Moving into our new warehouse in Stafford is a big milestone for us, but it’s only the beginning. We’re already in discussions about taking on another site on the same estate, creating our own showroom here and bringing our manufacturing to Stafford, which all shows the level of demand we’re experiencing.
