Door manufacturer Securexit plans to double its workforce over the next 12 months after securing a seven-figure funding package from HSBC

The Stoke-on-Trent headquartered firm, which launched this year and began production last month, will be creating a range of roles from office management to operations, taking its number of employees from 10 to 25.

Equipment finance from the bank has also been utilised to support the purchase of a panel bender, press brake, and laser equipment for manufacturing, as well as lifting and handling vehicles to move products.

Managing director David Lycett, who ran Newcastle-under-Lyme-based steel door manufacturer Robust UK for more than 25 years, said: “Starting a business based in Stoke-on-Trent was always the right decision for me. Growing up locally, with my family working here for generations, I wanted to build a company that had the community at its core and create a team of employees within the community.

“HSBC UK supporting us with our new venture made all the difference, as they understood the local landscape and helped to turn our vision into a reality. We look forward to future growth and realising ambitious growth plans.”

Securexit provides specialised powder coated external doors for fire protection, security and environmental protection.

Melissa Orpe, area director at HSBC UK, added: “It’s incredible to support the establishment of Securexit, as it takes root in the Potteries. The founders of the company bring true passion to the community and years of industry expertise.”
