Football clubs and Chamber throw support behind warm clothing charity campaign

1 min read

Stoke-on-Trent’s two top football clubs and Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce are the latest organisations to open warm clothing donation points to support vulnerable people this winter.

New drop off points have been opened at the Chamber’s headquarters as well as at Port Vale’s Club Shop and Stoke City’s Bet365 Stadium.

All donations will support the Stronger Together Through Winter initiative, a campaign by Stoke-on-Trent City Council, voluntary and community sector organisation VAST and businesses and groups throughout the city.

Port Vale FC co-owner and chair, Carol Shanahan OBE, said: “On behalf of Port Vale FC and Synectics Solutions, I am proud to co-chair the Stronger Together Through Winter campaign with Stoke-on-Trent City Council and other businesses and community organisations across the city.

“The key word is ‘Together’. We are all very mindful of the additional challenges presented by the rises in the cost of living and collectively as a city, we will support each other – especially those most vulnerable – throughout this period.”

Sara Williams, CEO at Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce, said: “Staffordshire Chambers is proud to support this fantastic initiative that is providing vital resources to the most vulnerable during what has been, and continues to be, a very difficult winter.

“One thing that we have found is that the feeling of togetherness is very much alive and well across Staffordshire, and I’m confident that the scheme will be well-supported across the new drop off points.”
